Our Kindergarten Program

J.A.C’s Learning World hosts a Government Approved Kindergarten Program. Our Kindergarten is a learning environment in which all children have the opportunity to reach their individual potential for living a contributing and fulfilling life. We recognise the value and richness of play as a catalyst for children’s learning and their ongoing engagement in meaningful experiences. When children play, they approach experiences with interest, ownership, empowerment and possibility.

Our Kindergarten program is delivered and facilitated by an Early Childhood Teacher who creates opportunity through play, at Kindergarten your child is:

Extra Curriculum

During the year, we offer an extensive array of excursions and incursions (visits from special groups) to further support the educational program for your child. In conjunction to excursions and incursions extra curriculum activities have been carefully designed and implemented within the program to engage your child and enhance their learning and development. Throughout the Kindergarten year the group will explore components such as Physical Sessions, Beach Kinder and Pals Program.

Our outdoor physical/ sport sessions are all about getting children excited, having fun and engaged with positive sporting experiences – children developing a love of physical activity and a lifelong interest in sport. We engage in an interactive program designed to inspire children to learn.

Beach Kinder is a program designed to provide valuable opportunities for children to connect to the land, live their culture and explore nature. Beach Kinder are small group experiences that allow for exploration, adventure and inquisitive learning of new or different environments and settings within our community.

PALS Social Skills Program teaches children about greeting others, listening, sharing, taking turns, dealing with feelings of fear, sadness and anger, and solving problems. The development of skills like these are essential in preparing children for the years beyond.

Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines

The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines are the basis of our program and aims to enrich children’s learning in the Kindergarten year.

The guideline is based on the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) and embraces the inclusive vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for Life.” (EYLF 2009).

Throughout the Kindergarten Year, children’s right to experience the joy of childhood is fundamental and learning is promoted through play, and emergent and planned learning experiences and interactions.

The guidelines acknowledge children as competent and capable learners, and the significant role adults play in optimising and enhancing children’s living and learning experiences. Teachers, families, educators and children share responsibility for the learning process through interaction, negotiation and collaboration.

Speech and Language Program
As part of our program that we offer at J.A.C’s Learning World we collaborate with a speech pathologist. The guidance received from the speech pathologist helps support the children with speech and language development. Through consultation and information sharing our staffing team further develop understanding, skills and abilities to further support your child's speech and language development during their time here.
